2013 OC Football Watch List -- Linebackers

Jordan Cry – Southfield
A flat out tackling machine, Cry is as well rounded of a linebacker as you will find in Oakland County and figures to be one of the state’s leading tacklers once again in 2013 and is one of the best linebackers against the run.

Shaun Jones – Birmingham Brother Rice
Poised to have a big breakout 2013 season, Jones will step in this fall and should be one of the leaders of the Brother Rice linebacking group as he’s one of the most sure-tacklers in the area.

Aiden Cullen – Pontiac Notre Dame Prep
One of the unquestioned leaders of the Notre Dame Prep defense, Cullen has proven to be one of the best linebackers in the area when it comes to stopping the run and defending the pass and should do much more of the same this fall for the Irish.

Jermaih Johnson – Pontiac Notre Dame Prep
Grabs plenty of headlines as a running back, but Johnson is also one of the County’s best linebackers and has been one of the most complete and best linebackers you will find and should be one of the best two-way players once again in 2013.

Connor Grant – Lake Orion
Will be one of the most complete linebackers that Oakland County will have to offer this fall, Grant will be a big contributor for the Dragons against the run as well as the pass this fall.

Austin Shamoun – Walled Lake Central
One of the leaders of the Central defense, Shamoun will help hold down the front and back seven for the Vikings with his ability to defend against the run and the past.

Chris Hill – Birmingham Seaholm
Will help lead what should be a dominant defense for Seaholm this fall, Hill should be one of the best linebackers in Oakland County  against the run with his ability to slow down just about any rushing attack.

John Simmons – Walled Lake Western
One of the best true athletes from the linebacker position, Simmons is a capable of making big plays in the open field with his speed and ability to go from sideline to sideline.

Shaquan McGriff – Ferndale
A very physical linebacker who will make several big hits throughout the season, McGriff will be one of the strongest forces from his position all season long and is one of the best against the run.

Aaron Chretian – Walled Lake Northern
A no doubt sure-fire tackler, Chretian has proven to be one of Oakland County’s best pure tacklers and will continue to do so in 2013 with his ability to make plays against the run as well as the pass.

Brennan Schneider – Waterford Mott
Another true tackling machine Oakland County has to offer, Schneider was one of Oakland County’s leading tacklers last year with his ability to stop the run and defend against the pass and should do much of the same this fall.

Noah Burnham – Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes

Will be one of the leaders this fall for the Lakers and should once again be a true tackling force with his ability to slow down opposing rushing attacks in a number of different ways.
